OUR STORY

The House of Akizuki began long before it had a name.

For more than three decades, Akiko has devoted her life to making beautiful things. After leaving Japan for New York, she built a career across fashion, art, and design, eventually founding Atsuyo et Akiko, a beloved label whose clothing, accessories, and objects found their way into boutiques and homes around the world.

Sora grew up surrounded by it all.

Sketches scattered across tables. Fabrics collected from faraway places. Materials waiting to become something else. Their home was an extension of the studio, where creativity was simply part of everyday life.

Years later, Sora found her own path through New York's fashion, beauty, and branding worlds, spending nearly a decade working alongside some of the industry's most recognized names.

But the idea of creating something together never quite left them. Not to recreate what had come before, but to begin something entirely their own.

House of Akizuki is where their two worlds meet.

Two generations. Two perspectives. A shared history between Japan and New York.

They don't always see beauty in the same way. They choose materials, take things apart, put them back together, disagree, change their minds, and begin again. Somewhere in that exchange, something neither could have made alone takes shape.

Every piece is made by hand in their Brooklyn studio, bringing together materials collected over decades with new discoveries. They are drawn to the unusual, the imperfect, and the things that carry a history or invite a closer look.

They believe beautiful objects need not announce themselves. Their meaning grows through the lives they become part of, the memories they hold, and the hands they pass through.

House of Akizuki begins with jewelry, but was never meant to end there.

A home for beautiful objects, old and new.

A continuation of what came before, and the beginning of something entirely their own.
